As we work with CMOs at over 5,000 companies, we at Omniture have realized that the CMO’s transition to digital marketing from traditional, offline marketing is very challenging. Our review of existing web sites and publications showed that these provide limited help in making this transition. While much of their content has value, it is written for manager-level practitioners, not senior marketing executives. Sites are often cluttered, have poorly organized content, or provide fee-only access. Additionally, their focus on a limited range of topics forces readers to visit multiple sites to be fully informed.
We realized that CMOs do not have the time or resources to do stay informed with these tools. Yet, CMOs told us their need for relevant insight is imperative—and increasing.
