The key challenge the digital revolution presents to businesses is not the technology itself, but the change required from the employees.
So says Thierry Derungs, Chief Digital Officer at BNP Paribas Wealth Management, the wealth management arm of one of the world’s largest banks. He was one of the speakers at this spring’s Adobe Summit EMEA, and after his session he joined us in the CMO.com studio to talk about digital transformation.
“It’s a key element to manage the change for the employees, and of course to provide good solutions to the clients themselves,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of curiosity to a Chief Digital Officer, pointing out that every meeting is an opportunity to learn. And he highlighted start-ups as a particular source of ideas and new thinking.
“Start-ups are a goldmine for me,” he said. “They think and work differently, and they have plenty of brilliant new ideas that are interesting to work on and implement inside Wealth Management.”
