The panic and confusion that starts immediately after a cancer diagnosis is not something all of us can relate to directly, though we can empathize. But what if it were your son or daughter who was diagnosed with cancer? What would you do first? How would you find more information? And how would you discuss the diagnosis with your child?
To help with all of these challenges, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital recently kicked off a new program, Together by St. Jude–a comprehensive online resource for everyone impacted by pediatric cancer. The last thing scared parents want to do is sift through miles of information to know what to expect. Together provides clear, reliable medical explanations, clinical-care information to manage side effects and promote mental and physical health, types of treatments and tests, advice to navigate life transitions after cancer, and more for people across the globe. It even has a community of support.
Behind the scenes, the same data and optimization work used to sell you a watch you may like online is applied to an infinitely more important cause. Information can be obtained on any device, at any time. But more importantly, it is optimized for those affected by the disease, with easy navigation and featuring videos of other parents and children who offer their encouragement and talk about what to expect.
Of course, these families need all the support they can get. By creating these resources, Together by St. Jude is demonstrating the most possible good that can be done by using the latest in data, artificial intelligence, and online experiences.
Proudly, Adobe has played a small role in helping the great team at St. Jude make this resource a reality. (CMO.com is owned by Adobe.) Together by St. Jude leverages Adobe Experience Cloud solutions to help power the experience. This includes the use of Adobe Experience Manager to build, manage, and add highly interactive, personalized content to the portal, and Adobe Analytics to reach and engage patients and families when they are seeking answers, as well as to help St. Jude understand how portal visitors engage with content to continuously improve Together by St. Jude. As a whole, St. Jude is doing some incredible work, and Adobe is pleased to be part of its part in this journey. For another example of how St. Jude and Adobe collaborate, please watch this video.
“We are honored to work with St. Jude and be a small part in their life-changing mission,” said Carl Lefebvre, senior enterprise account executive at Adobe. “It’s so inspiring to all of us to see how the team at St. Jude is using digital engagement to help families impacted by pediatric cancer through difficult times.”
With incredible people, resources, and technology, the Together team is now delivering an online experience that could change lives. Together by St. Jude isn’t a cure for cancer. But being able to understand the disease, prepare for the side effects of treatment, and work on a child’s mental and physical health–as well as provide a support system–during the process are crucial in the process of maximizing quality of life and, hopefully, curing cancer.
As we all look to make a difference on Giving Tuesday and beyond, Together by St. Jude is an example of what we can do beyond just a surface level. But the greatest impact you can make, as an individual or a company, is in using your expertise and talents to change lives forever. And we can get there if we work together.
